Darcy and Tom are preparing for a lavish wedding on an island. They are slightly annoyed by the groom's mother and the bride's ex. But soon the couple realizes that these were just little things: right at the ceremony, pirates burst in and take the guests hostage. It's up to Darcy and Tom to save everyone.

At the beginning I would like to say something about the context. This film was released in theaters on February 14, Valentine's Day.

From the selection of romcoms presented, it stands out both in its cast and in its direction. As the saying goes, the fish don't eat the fish. But more about that later.

The screenwriter is Mark Hammer, whom we may only know from the film with the telling title 'Sex for Two Nights'.

The plot is based on the cliched nature of the wedding process and the sense of discomfort we may feel about the desires of our relatives or friends.

The characters are interesting to watch, and the picture, in turn, keeps us constantly in suspense. I didn't notice any major plot holes.

The dialogues of Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel in some snippets deserve the title 'Tarantino'.

The love line doesn't seem artificially created, you can feel the chemistry between the newlyweds. Each of these actors has a number of romcoms under their belt, so they feel fairly confident in the genre.

But the rest of the characters are not empty extras either. By their example, we can observe interpersonal problems and how the characters try to solve them as the story progresses.

The cameraman is Peter Deming, the name behind (Menu, Scarface, Scream, Twin Peaks).

He knows how to shoot in such a way that even a scene where they just cut the cake at a wedding would give us goosebumps. Of course, it did not do without interesting angles.

Separately, I would like to mention the pirate costumes, which do raise questions. Why do some masks consist of chainmail or beer caps? Why are they wearing barbs?

Let's put it down to the culture of the local pirates.

A good soundtrack reinforces the strong scenes and immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of the wedding adventure.

We watch with our mouths open as an unprepared but determined and cohesive couple of newlyweds chop up bandits left and right. And when Stifler's mom takes over...

In conclusion, I would like to talk about the negative buzz surrounding the film. Reading the foreign editions, there is a strong sense that the picture got negative reviews for lack of 'subpoena'.

I recommend the film for viewing. It won't change your idea of the genre, but you'll be able to have a great time with your other half.

Who knows, maybe it will teach girls not to be shy about their sexuality and guys to be more frank.
