Farming brothers Pedro and Jaime discover the mutilated body of a cleaner in the woods, who, as it turns out, was on his way to a neighbor's house to kill a possessed man. When dealing with evil, you need to follow certain rules, so the brothers together with their neighbor Ruiz decide to take the infected far away and leave him there, but he disappears on the way. The next day a demonic force kills Ruiz and his pregnant wife, and the brothers go on the run. Pedro stops by his ex-wife's house to pick up the children, but brings the evil with him.

A brutal and bloody horror film about obsession from the director of “Paralyzed by Fear,” where the main characters play the role of “survivors” trying to escape from danger. The further the plot progresses, the more ambitious and ambitious the film becomes: the feeling of growing chaos and the end of the world becomes stronger and stronger as you watch. The filmmaker has managed to recreate a nightmarish world where all the characters are in constant danger, forced to run without looking back, like rats from a sinking ship.

On top of everything else, the film is full of gruesome moments that would make even the most unprincipled Asians envious: the sweet eating of brains from a child's open skull; axe blows to the face; rotten, festering skin with boils - and other delights that look as realistic and frightening as possible.

From the very first minutes, the narrative maintains a very high dynamic, never slowing down, which increases the level of anxiety and tension, allowing the viewer to immerse themselves in everything happening on the screen. The script is tightly written and allows for no flaws, or masterfully hides them. Even the ending, which is not unexpected, hits you like a hammer, leaving you with a bitter feeling of hopelessness and combining the dark, merciless tone of Lucio Fulci with the exquisite mythology of director Demián Runi. For me, this is definitely the best horror film of 2023 so far.

Moral of the story: the simplest and cheapest way to send a demon back to hell is to play him Russian rap tracks.
