And that's it?! - The first thought that crossed my mind after the credits began. Such a promising beginning resulted in a trite, boring and cheesy ending. What about the traditional for this genre of movies dashing plot twists just before the epilogue, what about the abrupt change of characters when the evil turns out to be quite positive and the good not so clean? No, there is none of that. The movie goes along, building up the atmosphere (not that much, by the way) and peters out into nothing.

Disappointed. Just disappointed.

Though, I would like to note positively the cast and their performance - the beautiful Rachel McAdams and the charismatic Cillian Murphy add the necessary colors and make an extremely enjoyable picture to a film which is gray all the same. But here I was a bit disappointed as well - the line of the main villain Jackman Ripper (hello Jack the Ripper!) is not described at all, the peculiarities of his character, mannerisms, the reason for his choice of "profession" and other things which could have raised the film to a very good level remain obscure. Nor are the motives behind the crime, which was somehow ridiculously easy to plan. Everything is very far-fetched and sucked out of thin air.
