Story Movie

New Mexico state police are investigating a series of bizarre murders and disappearances in which the assailants showed a distinct interest in ordinary sugar. Unusual traces are found at the crime scenes, and when an FBI agent and biologists are brought in to investigate, a terrifying suspicion turns out to be true. Following the 1945 nuclear tests at the Alamogordo test site, local ants mutated into giant monsters, and now humanity faces the bleak prospect of falling in an unequal battle against a hitherto unknown enemy.

Review 4K Movie

"Them!" is an absolute classic of 1950s sci-fi horror and one of the best films in the "creature feature" sub genre. Unlike many of its low-budget counterparts from that era, this film is surprisingly serious and atmospheric, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

The first half of the film even resembles an excellent detective story with elements of suspense, where the characters try to figure out what mysterious murders are taking place in the desert. The sound effect mimicking the chirping of giant ants still sounds eerie to this day. For 1954, the special effects and animatronics look monumental. The film perfectly captures the fears of the “atomic age” and is a must-watch for all fans of retro sci-fi, especially in its remastered 4K quality.
