From the very beginning of his career Eddie Murphy captivated everyone with his sharp mind, incredible charm and insanely bright roles. In his first film "48 Hours" Eddie managed to really shine talent and famous throughout the world, in addition, the success of the film itself and the avalanche of positive reviews for the talent comic led to the fact that the appearance of the sequel "The Other 48 Hours" was inevitable.

Therefore, a couple of willy-nilly partners Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) and Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) got together again, but after the whole eight, which included the release of the iconic and in fact the best roles for Eddie in the two parts of "The Beverly Hills Policeman". These two blockbusters brought Eddie fame as a movie star when he could already choose the movies he would star in himself.

This time both buddies are in trouble. Reggie, even though he is out of jail, is being hunted by his former buddies who want him dead. Jack has an internal investigation that threatens him not just with dismissal, but with jail time. But despite the fact that a lot has changed and changed, despite all the problems, another case will bring the guys together again and, just like back then, the guys will have only 48 hours to investigate the case.

The continuation of any classic action movie has always been a very difficult thing, especially the remakes or sequels of any action movie from the 80's, which nowadays are almost impossible to make at the proper level, with the same love and attitude to the genre. Fortunately, although delayed with the release of the second picture until the early 90's, Walter Hill still took the risk to continue the story of one of his most successful films.

Gathering the old team, the director chose the easiest way, and it seems the most correct. Keeping the concept of the first film, he simply brought in more destruction, shootings, explosions, as an integral part of the action movie, and increased the amount of humor on the screen. There was no need to worry about the film's comedic element, as Eddie was one of Hollywood's best comedians at the time.

"The Other 48 Hours" is a good example of the right way to approach making a sequel to not any, but many pictures of this kind. The film has everything for a true action film as well as a comedy, giving in combination the necessary mix for a charge of positive emotion.
