Story Movie

The ancient walls of Shaolin Monastery have kept this legend alive for centuries.... Two monk friends, masters of martial arts, were expelled from the monastery for using weapons. Outside the walls of Shaolin, the roads of former friends diverged. Tinbiao, who betrayed his comrade, joined the forces of the evil ruler, while Yunbiao sided with the rebels.
Yesterday's comrades and now enemies, the heroes are now on opposite sides of the barricade. Their new meeting is inevitable, but it will happen only on the battlefield. The last, terrible battle is coming, which can end with both the triumph of justice and the victory of the blackest evil.

Review 4K Movie

There are moments in our lives when we want to be alone, to experience the pain that lurks in our hearts. Some people need company at such times, while others long for solitude. I fall into the second category. To be alone, to listen to music, write a text or watch my favorite movie. “Tai Chi Teacher” is just such a movie for me.

In the late nineties, my friends and I used to play this movie on videotape several times. We copied each other's copies. The quality was terrible, the translation with a vile voice, of course one-liners, part of the screen was occupied by subtitles, but we were happy with what we had.

A few years later, the movie was released in a Hollywood treatment with improved quality, a new soundtrack and a shorter running time. This production was called “Two Warriors” and in my opinion had only one advantage - the quality of the image, everything else was screwed up. There was no melody that filled the movie with inexpressible atmosphere, very lacking cut scenes, as well as the new voice-over and translation left much to be desired, as the action on the screen did not coincide with the nonsense that the translator was talking. I got bored with the nasally voice from the 90s.

Today I re-watched the movie again. This time it was a version that combined the two. The modern Hollywood one, but with full timing. The scenes that had been cut out before were now back in, but not translated. But I was glad for that, as these episodes retained the original soundtrack, albeit in a very small amount.

The movie tells the story of the early life of master Zhang Sanfeng (Jet Li). According to the plot of the movie, he ended up in the Shaolin Temple at an early age, where fate brought him together with Chin Bao (Chin Siu Hou). The future master himself went by the name Jen Bao. Together they become best friends, one could say real brothers. But ambitious character and inability to restrain anger led to the fact that Chin Bao was expelled from the monastery, along with Jen Bao, who tried to stand up for his friend.

From then on, they found themselves in a worldly life that was foreign to them. They have experienced many things, love, betrayal, and even madness.

“Tai Chi Teacher” is a movie about old heart wounds, about overcoming pain when your heart bleeds.

The movie is a bit naive, but that's not a minus, it will only come an atmosphere in which you feel comfortable, realize that the movie has a soul.

When pain takes over our heart, one wants to go crazy, to not realize the pain, to forget oneself in madness. Some drown their grief in wine, but Jen Bao, finding himself in the world outside the monastery, is still a monk at heart. He can't believe it when Chin Bao betrays him for wealth and power, his mind breaks down and he goes mad.

But he heals by finding a cure for his mangled soul during a nature walk. He realizes that he needs to free himself from the weight of the past and build a new self on the ruins of his broken soul.

Gradually freeing his mind and finding unity and harmony with nature, Jin Bao discovers a new style that would later be called Tai Chi.
