Story Movie

Clark Kent, born on the planet Krypton but raised in a simple American family, considers it his duty to serve humanity as Superman. Review 4K Movie

The long-suffering Superman of the 21st century still can't seem to get a stable, long-running film series that will leave audiences gaping and wide-eyed. The 2000s were a failure. The 2010s had enormous potential, which the studio was unable or unwilling to realize. And now imagine that James Gunn has taken on a new reboot in a world where the memory of Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill's Superman is more alive than ever, and it constantly yearns, sighs, and cries over missed opportunities. So the creator of Slug was either a madman or a genius when he took on a huge responsibility that even Spider-Man couldn't handle. Judging by all the news before the premiere, many had already begun to predict failure. Well, you remember the reshoots, which were actually additional shots, hastily made posters, and individual frames from the trailer for the public's amusement. The risk suddenly increased exponentially...

Noah and the Whale - 5 Years Time

In the event of a complete failure, comic book fans, geeks, and Superman devotees could instantly forget about the successful Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. But James Gunn is not one to shy away from a challenge, so after a short prologue with brief credits about what happened three centuries, decades, months, weeks, hours, and (seemingly) minutes ago (he's a joker, of course), he immediately throws the quiet audience into the thick of events that can make your head spin. If you're expecting a calm, measured, and smooth entry into a new movie about a famous superhero, you're in the wrong place. In the Gunnverse, all of that is left behind the scenes, because the whole world knows about Superman, Lex Luthor already hates him fiercely, other characters from the DC universe have been in the plot for a long time, and so on. Why rehash the same old story when you can show everything right away: everyone knows everything, so let's crank up the punk rock and put on a show! The action in the film is in full swing. You might even get tired...

Journey - Don't Stop Believin

Fans who enjoy watching and listening may, of course, be dissatisfied, constantly comparing the “then and now” formats. A decade ago, Zack Snyder had the handsome Henry Cavill, the experienced and widely known Amy Adams, the luxurious Kevin Costner and Diane Lane, the attractive neurotic Jesse Eisenberg, and music by Hans Zimmer. And now?! It's as if the amusing James Gunn continued this theme with outsiders whom few people know and expect nothing from, but thanks to the opportunity they have been given, they show that they are just as good. This is especially noticeable in the example of Pruitt Taylor Vince! A colorful actor with memorable eyes (just remember the priest from Constantine or the madman from Identity) suddenly appears in a big blockbuster with high stakes. How many people knew about him? But he still fits in, never spoiling the impression of the story, just like everyone else.

New Radicals - You Get What You Give

David Korenesvet also succeeded. His character is a kind-hearted soul. Okay, an earthling. Okay, a human being. His impassioned speech about how he also makes mistakes, and that's what makes him an ordinary person, touches the heart so deeply that after the screening, as you replay the scene in your mind, you understand why James Gunn succeeded. His film is about the good in each of us, about good people who are Supermen in everyday life. It is so ingrained in society that showing kindness can be considered either a weakness or a strangeness. Feeding stray animals on the street, or even rescuing them from the water or from a tree, cleaning up someone else's trash in nature, repairing a bench in the yard that dim-witted types love to break. Do a good deed, and people see you as an alien. And who is Superman? That's right, from another planet. So he embodies the image of a good guy, which is so rare in this angry world.

The Mighty Crabjoys - The Mighty Crabjoys Theme

Questions about why he does what he does, why he saves even an ordinary squirrel to the very end (an interesting scene in the film, by the way), what benefit there is in doing good, will never end. Moreover, the mood of society can always change quickly, as was shown in the film when a heated conflict broke out over one delicate situation. James Gunn's “Superman” is quite simple and down-to-earth, despite the superhumans and all the fantasy. It's different from “ChiS,” that's for sure. The beauty of it is that no one is stopping us from still loving the Snyderverse, as long as we also enjoyed the 2025 version, despite our skepticism. We'll probably go back 2-3 more times just for the ending, when that Teddybears song with Iggy Pop's hooligan voice started playing, and we realized that James Gunn, a true punk rocker in the world of filmmaking, had done it. We left the theater in high spirits and didn't sleep for a long time.
