Story Movie

As Kevin Flynn predicted, it has become possible to transfer objects and humanoid programs from the virtual world to the real world. Julian Dillinger, head of Dillinger Systems, attracts investors by demonstrating the incredible capabilities of the new technology, without mentioning that in our world, recreated objects can only exist for 29 minutes. Meanwhile, ENCOM CEO Eva Kim discovers the so-called stability code, a program that removes this time limitation. Upon learning of his competitors' success, Julian orders his best soldiers, Ares and Athena, two AI characters extracted from the virtual world, to capture Eva and retrieve the valuable code from her.

Review 4K Movie

'Throne: Ares' is a prime example of a nightmarish sequel to a brilliant predecessor. The only good things about the film are the occasionally decent visuals, but without the excitement of Legacy, the NIN soundtrack, and the excellent sound. That's where all the good things in the film end, because everything that could be “improved” was “improved” with all their heart.

The main problem with the film is the script, which is terrifying in its stupidity and dullness. For some reason, the creators, studio, and producers decided that the best option would be to make the sequel more entertaining and shoot it in a similar style to Transformers, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, or Terminator 3. From a few serious moments, the film suddenly veers into jokes and conversations on par with the films listed above, and it becomes simply unbearable to listen to. The level of dialogue and “wonderful” plot revelations repeatedly induces a state of stupor, although it would seem that Hollywood filmmakers can no longer surprise us with anything, but each time they manage to hit rock bottom and knock from below at the same time.

The film is banally boring to watch. Director Joachim Rønning has absolutely no feel for or understanding of the fantasy genre, which is alien to him, and in essence, he is just a hired hand here. His element is sea films, but certainly not high-tech fantasy, which he knows nothing about. Yes, they gave him money, and there are some visually interesting moments, but only moments. The entire film feels forced, everything is bland and depressingly dull. It feels like a Chinese knockoff of a unique original, where everything looks so dead and artificial that it makes you want to grab your head. There is one decent action scene in the entire two-hour film. The so-called combat choreography provokes Homeric laughter along with a feeling of Spanish shame.

The acting is at about the same “highest” level as the script. It feels like you're watching some kind of children's matinee where they're trying to cosplay "Tron: The Legacy', but it turns out, to put it mildly, very mediocre. Only old Jeff Bridges in a small episode is pleasing, and Gillian Anderson's face is frozen in amazement, as if to say, ‘Oh my God, what a piece of crap I starred in, at least it wasn't for free’.

In general, it's a very bad and unsuccessful sequel. Legacy had style, chic design, and a sense of fire and love for what Kosinski was doing. Here, it's lifeless, dull plastic with a couple of interesting flashes of LED. System Failed, there's no other way to put it.
