Story Movie

They Live 4K 1988 US Ultra HD 2160p
One day, a simple construction worker Nade, who is not very lucky in life, finds unusual sunglasses. Having put them on, he gets the opportunity to see the world as it is.

Reality is scary! It turns out that the government and the media bombard people with hidden messages that affect the subconscious: "Sleep!", "Don't let your imagination run wild", "Obey the authorities."

Even worse, Neida saw the true guise of many politicians and important members of society! They are not people at all, but ugly and evil aliens from the planet Andromeda. Their mission on Earth is to conduct a massive campaign to subjugate earthlings to their will and keep people in the dark ...

Neida must find people who, like him, know about the true state of affairs (who else could have made these wonderful glasses?), And join their resistance movement to fight!

Review 4K Movie

The evaluations of the film are already very polarized, either 'masterpiece' or 'total sucks'. As usual, the truth is somewhere in between. Those looking for a jumbled action game that will keep every minute on their toes will be disappointed. The beginning of the film is rather long. When the action finally begins to unfold, it is a little artificial and stretched.

But if the meaning of what is happening on the screen is important to you, you will not tear yourself away. But how many have we seen vividly and effectively filmed bank robberies, gratuitous but fascinating massacres, and other 'life' movies? Carpenter showed us reality, and it was difficult to show it then otherwise than hiding behind a fantastic facade. In 88, no one spoke directly about such things. Social modeling at its finest. Today a lot has been said and written about the manipulation of consciousness, then it was not.

The fact that the film is still relevant today (even more so today) is explained by the fact that the moments shown in it are already visible to us without glasses. "Masters of the world", new nomads, in any part of the Earth, both at home, and aliens in the universe that obeyed them. And that the faces of the newcomers are "like rotten cheese" and today's "elite" people can no longer be called.
Separately, I would like to say about the musical range. The theme that goes in the background of the whole movie is just great! The stringy guitar entangles us, like a web of advertising slogans, the brains of the man in the street, like a swamp in which everyone is stuck. The hero of the film breaks out of it at the cost of his life.

The ideological charge of the film is so strong that one can forgive the weaknesses of its implementation. It's worth watching.
