Gargamel creates Strong and Splinter, like two peas in a pod, an evil couple like the Smurfs, hoping to still gain magical power. When he learns that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants, and only Smurfette is able to turn Strong and Splinter into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and takes her with him to Paris, planning to make her his servant. But the Smurfs - Daddy, Clumsy, Grunt, Handsome - and their New York friends won't leave it that way.

4 years have passed since the Smurfs visited New York. Nothing has changed in their lives, they still live together in their fabulous country and are preparing to celebrate Smurfette's birthday. But, the holiday is under threat of disruption, since Gargamel decides to kidnap Smurfette, and he does it with the help of a couple he created - Hakusa and Veksi. Outwardly, they are very similar to the Smurfs, but only Smurfette can turn them into full-fledged Smurfs. Her Smurf family and New York friends, Patrick, Grace, and, Victor, Patrick's stepfather, are in a hurry to help Smurfette.

Well, the company has chosen what is needed, Gargamel and his ginger cat are still weird. Only now he has become wildly popular, his performances are sold out, but his plans are still the same.

All events unfold against the backdrop of the panorama of Paris, especially against the backdrop of the nighttime Eiffel Tower, which, of course, cannot but rejoice. But, with all the component, there is a lack of some kind of entertainment and fascination of the film. The most spectacular scene was, perhaps, the scene with the Ferris Wheel, or rather with its crazy rental, in the city at night. Although, how many times have we seen this? Every director considers it his duty to shoot him in his film.

I, like many adults in the audience, lacked some fun and passion for the plot, but many kids laughed heartily, mostly from the antics of Gargamel and Patrick's father, especially as a duck.

So, the cast is the same:

Gargamel was still brilliantly performed by Hank Azaria, facial expressions, gait, gestures, everything was done perfectly.

Neil Patrick Harris and Jaime Mays do a good job of being loving parents and loyal friends.

I especially like the Russian voice acting, especially Smurfetta, the singer Nyusha. Her sonorous voice is easily recognizable, and it has been encountered quite often lately.

'The Smurfs 2' is a pretty good movie, it's colorful, bright, it has a childish spontaneity, a funny soundtrack from Britney Spears and, most importantly, a short duration. But, as often happens, he is still inferior to the first part.
