Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within 4K 2001 Ultra HD 2160p
The year is 2065. The Earth was attacked by phantom monsters from space, which cannot be resisted. Translucent monsters, more like hallucinations, have already exterminated most of humanity, and soon their dominance over the planet will become absolute. The fate of the world is in the hands of a handful of daredevils - the scientist Aki Ross, Dr. Sidi and the technician captain Edwards, who enter the last battle with the alien evil spirits.

Review 4K Movie

For the first time I saw this animated film in the distant school years. The second time, I reviewed it as an adult. And every time, from watching, I got pleasure and a strong charge of emotions.

The film grabs the viewer's attention from the first shots, plunging into the gloomy atmosphere of what is happening. The set and tense climax is followed by a beautiful, emotional ending. And the film ends with a beautiful song performed by Lara Fabian.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that this excellent animated film flopped at the box office. And film critics showered him with negative reviews. After reading many negative reviews, I was even more unpleasantly surprised by the exaggerated and sucked out claims.

Since from a technical point of view, the film was made excellently - the computer graphics are still impressive, excellent actor's voice acting and pleasant music complement the magnificent atmosphere of the cartoon - "flaws" are sought out in the plot. To some he seems too delusional. Others have clichéd characters. Still others have villains with unspoken motivation. These and similar claims, except as sucked from the finger, can not be called.

The accusation of cliched characters can be applied with a stretch to a detachment of soldiers that really looks stereotypical: the commander is a hero and handsome, a pumped-up hulk, a joker, a dodger and a lively girl. But even they played well and look quite appropriate. The main character is a pretty girl-scientist who does her duty without hesitation. The main character is a brave soldier who sacrifices himself for the sake of loved ones and all of humanity. An old scientist, Dr. Sidi, who made a breakthrough scientific discovery that could save humanity, is trying to reach out to officials and the military through bureaucratic obstacles. These characters are shown quite convincingly and look like real people, with their emotions and feelings. All the characters are organically woven into the plot, none of them seems superfluous and they are revealed exactly to the extent that the format and timing allows.

The motivation of the main villain is also clear and clearly spelled out. It is not clear what this film was watched by people who believe that his actions are incomprehensible and illogical. But all of his motives and beliefs are clearly shown in several dialogues. General Hein is a military man from brain to bone, a brave soldier, true to his duty, who lost his entire family in the war. Phantoms, for him, whose enemy must be defeated at any cost, no matter what. He simply does not see any other way than to shoot the enemy with the most powerful cannon. But when the big cannon is ready and the enemy, in his opinion, is about to be defeated, some scientists stand on his way to victory over the enemy and the salvation of all mankind. Referring to scientific theories incomprehensible to him, they forbid him to destroy the enemy with a big gun, they want to investigate something incomprehensible, to study. And in his eyes they look like traitors who have become an obstacle to victory in the war. Therefore, he begins to mend obstacles to the main characters, with all that it implies. In general, everything is clear, logical and spelled out.

Minor contradictions, directly within the plot of the film, can be found. But there are not so many of them to be considered a serious disadvantage. In general, events develop quite logically, within the framework of the universe that the authors created. Do not forget that we are faced with a genre that in itself presupposes fiction and certain assumptions.

In general, it is not clear what the Western film critics were guided by, who chopped off the rating of the film. But the result was a badly tainted career for the talented Japanese. And now they do not often delight us with beautiful and not stupid fairy tales for adults. Instead, we can regularly contemplate monotonous Hollywood action films and endless attempts to 'relaunch' old masterpieces, each more disgusting than the last.
