Story Movie

Since ancient times, girls with unusual voices have protected people from demons: through their singing, they create a protective barrier to keep evil from entering our world. This is the mission of the three members of the all-female K-pop group Huntrix, and they were successfully carrying it out until their fans began to be lured away by a group of cunning demons disguised as handsome guys.

Review 4K Movie

Thanks to a flood of positive reviews and high ratings, Netflix is already planning a second season. And amid all this joyful excitement, it seems to me that I’m the only one who doesn’t share everyone else’s enthusiasm.

“KPop Demon Hunters” is definitely vibrant and eye-catching: it combines a musical with K-pop, which is only now gaining popularity, and the graphics are simply excellent, as are the animation techniques used. However, in my opinion, the show lacks depth. I got the impression that any themes touched upon in the series are only skimmed over, without delving deeper, without really providing any explanations, and leaving them floating on the surface. How did Rumi’s parents meet? How did she, Mira, and Zoe meet and become close? What lies behind their personalities and characters? Why did Rumi end up accepting herself so quickly and easily? The other members of “Saja Boys” seem like nothing more than cardboard cutouts compared to the main male character, Jinu. Although, again, he was hardly developed at all. And it’s really hard to believe in the feelings between Rumi and Jinu.

The runtime of “K-Pop Demon Hunters” is no different from most older cartoons, but in that same hour and a half, those older shows somehow managed to tell more of a story, make you fall in love with them more deeply, truly captivate you, and transport you into their magical worlds.
