Review 4K Movie

It is extremely rare after an action movie to want to stand to applaud its creators. This happens only after the films of Jackie Chan, who is himself a master of originality, it happens in the films of Tarantino, who is also a great original, and it happens in the films of Guy Ritchie, who also created an almost ideal, if not innovative, film for the genre. It's nice to see when such original, bright, worthy things appear in a stamped and well-worn genre. I love everything original and unconventional, and after watching The Big Jackpot, even though I watched it at home and alone, I honestly gave a standing ovation. The merits of this work are many. I'll try to name at least a few.

Guy Ritchie's script is amazing! Where did this Briton coached so many amazing characters, so many cool jokes, so many mind-blowing and idiotic, and at the same time, completely natural situations? I don’t know, but the film can be quoted, and the images of the characters can be hung on the wall in frames - they are so clearly written out. Each character, even the smallest one - a character, each has its own noticeable counter, which makes the film a brilliant example of 'ensemble cinema', no one here plays separately, all the heroes are cogs in a large, fine-tuned, polished machine - Guy Ritchie's script.

Guy Ritchie's delivery - no words! Much, undoubtedly, was taken from Tarantino, or at least similar to him, but it still looks original, perhaps even brighter than in 'Maps ...' Events change with machine-gun speed, it is difficult to follow them, but that's all. built in clear logic, no sagging moments, the film captures from beginning to end, a huge number of all kinds of jokes does not allow you to forget that this is still not a traditional action movie, but an excellent action side does not allow you to completely forget that this is all not really a comedy. But the drive is deadly! A number of scenes were done just brilliantly.

Cinematography by Maurice-Jones. The guy is a cool operator, to be sure. The technique of 'return' is used, there is a constant mixing of events of the past and the present, the important elements that the viewer needs to pay attention to are highlighted in an original and funny way.

Music. Cool musical themes that are remembered along with the hero. Almost every hero has his own music for the appearance (Boris has balalaika, Jews have their violins, etc.). Then the heroes are not perceived in isolation from their music.

Heroes. The very juice of the film. Not everyone will be able to collect so many disgusting criminal freaks in one film. There is not a single positive hero here and you still begin to gradually feel sympathy for Turk, for Tommy, for the crazy Gypsy ... Many actors have much more significant roles in films, they are so-called stars, and here they play in a low-budget British film small roles on a par with other, less stellar actors and these small roles are much more interesting than their 'solo outings'. Pitt's gypsy is much brighter and more convincing than his own solo in 'Mister and Mrs. Smith' or 'Babylon'. The small role of Four-Fingered in del Toro, the gorgeous roles of Fleming, Stateham, Jones. And how juicy the Russian Boris-razor turned out to be (fuck you!)! The film is generally distinguished by a non-standard attitude towards Russians, gypsies, Englishmen ... And 3 stupid blacks? And in general, the film is full of funny moronic characters who do stupid things so naturally that it cannot but cause laughter. Episodes with some characters last 1-2 minutes, while Richie manages to reveal a few more features of their character. Everyone is given not only a label, but also a clear explanation for him - in word and deed.

Style. The film really sets completely new frames for the heat, breaking the old ones. Therefore, he became a cult and a revelation for the mighty. With such wit, so easy, bloody and at the same time fun in the genre, no one else knows how to work.
The film creates a surprisingly upbeat mood, despite the fact that the things that happen there are far from kind. The film is not unique, but it cannot be called a repetition of the past. It is not secondary and it is not just a director's handwriting, a special style, like Jackie Chan, like Tarantino. If desired, the films of these masters can also be called monotonous, but they stand out so much against the background of the total mass of film veil that there would be more of such a 'monotony'! Richie also has failures, but this one film allows us to speak of him as a talented filmmaker and one of the most controversial figures in modern cinema.
