When Chicago musicians Joe and Jerry accidentally witness a gang shootout, they rush off on a train to Florida, pretending to be women. Now they are Josephine and Daphne, new and pretty instrumentalists of a female jazz band.

I'm not much of a comedy fan, but I really enjoyed this movie. In my opinion this is the best comedy in the history of cinema. Even despite the age of the film (almost 50 years), it can give odds to any modern film of the comedy genre, because the picture is very ironic, and the humor in it is not stupid and not vulgarized.

The story is about two Chicago guys: Joe and Jerry. They are young musicians who have nothing but their saxophone and double bass. Quietly playing in a male jazz band and not touching anyone, one day they become witnesses of a mafia showdown. It becomes clear that it is necessary to run away from them far away, otherwise they will not pat them on the head. And then an offer comes up: a jazz band needs a saxophone and double bass to go on tour in Florida. And what: they would go to Florida, away from Chicago. It would seem that everything was fine, only a female jazz band ...

But what can you do, right? Josephine and Geraldine…sorry, Joe and Jerry (although now the first one) get into women's clothes and put on scary wigs. On the way to Florida, Josephine and Daphne (well, Jerry didn't like her last name) meet the charming Sugar, who buzzed her ears about the dream of meeting a charming millionaire. And Joe, being deeply in love, sets himself the task of becoming exactly the one whom the heroine Monroe so romantically described.

Upon arriving in Florida, a retired millionaire falls in love with Daphne, with the pretext that he likes women like her. And Joe, fraudulently, tries to win the heart of Sugar, pretending to be a lonely millionaire with a huge yacht.

It seems that everything was fine, but then those Chicago scumbags came to the "seminar" of the mafia, so to speak. Yes, and Osgood made a firm decision to marry Daphne. And Joe does not know what to do if Sugar is crazy about that millionaire, and he has nothing but women's clothes and a tool.

In general, the whole thing turned into a real farce with indescribably excellent performances by Lee Curtis and Jack Lemmon. Of course, I understand women's dresses and wigs, but heels ...

Tall, strong and stand on heels, but so confidently. That's what it means to get into the role. They kind of took dance lessons because of it. Well, Lee Curtis's character is a calm and maybe even a nerdy character, maybe a romantic one. But Daphne! It's just indescribable.

She's so eccentric and just blows her mind. And those maracas, and how she kept trying to frame Joseph, and how she flirted with Fielding. Of course, not like the old man Osgood, but it kills. Lemmon's performance is generally the height of acting. He...he...he was brilliant! Here, learn the actor and actress master class.

Well, there is still a small minus, namely the sex symbol of America, the legendary blonde Monroe. Of course, this is her best role, but how she was given to the poor director. The easiest phrases, such as "It's me, darling!" normally shot only 40 times and then with a text card. Why does she need $200,000? Maybe, of course, she is a sex symbol, but as an actress, excuse me, but not of the best quality.

What about these phrases? "Everyone has their flaws!" - oh ... I'm delighted with these "doves". Well, you have to. The final scene is aerobatics.

Acting, an interesting plot, a lot of humor and irony, eccentricity - at the highest quality. The film is funny, interesting and not stupid. It has become unforgettable for me. It's literally iconic! The best comedy of all time!
