Ghostbusters 4K 1984 Deluxe Edition Ultra HD 2160p
At the end of the twentieth century, it turns out that not only ordinary citizens live in New York, but also... ghosts. The multimillion population cannot resist the onslaught of the supernatural.

In the end, there is no one in the way of countless monsters - except for the three scientists - parapsychologists, who know all about the otherworld, the truth only in theory. And now they will have to leave the dusty offices and put their knowledge into practice...

Review 4K Movie

Usually, when the word ghost is used, the viewer associates it with something witchy, dark, and gothic. It's interesting that after watching this film the idea of ghosts, and especially of fighting them, can change dramatically.

Ghostbusters is one of those films from the early '80s that began to break stereotypes about sci-fi. At that time, the bulk of characters in non-fiction films consisted of either adventurers or tough guys. Yes of course there were exceptions, but still, the mainstream remained unchanged. But here, in front of us appears a blockbuster, in which the protagonists are - a trio of intelligent ragamuffins - enthusiasts, "heroes" solely for the money, and at the same time, causing the object of salvation huge damage. What is more, the founder of their cantor, does not even have the same qualifications as his younger colleagues, and considers the main part of the work to be writing the bill.

The process of fighting ghosts is shown in an original way. Instead of tambourines, amulets and conspiracies, a portable nuclear reactor with a proton emitter and a positron trap that shrinks the caught ghost to the right size. Science fiction, and no magic.

In spite of all this, the filmmakers do not try to make the movie serious, trying their best to show the comicality of what is going on. The design of the ghosts is caricatured, the characters constantly get into silly situations, and the dialogues in the film are a separate song. Being largely improvised by the actors, they lose none of their accuracy and poignancy. The dialogue between the obsessive Dana Barrett and Peter Venkman comes to mind:

"Take me, inferior being."
"I'm not talking to you!"

What's characteristic of "Ghostbusters" is the absence of any sort of toilet humor (aside from a couple of exceptions) and the presence of sharp quips. But the jokes wouldn't look so good if it weren't for the cast.

Speaking of the cast, one can't help but flatter the casting. The charming cynic Murray, the erudite simpleton Aykroyd, the ever-serious Ramis, the lop-sided Moranis and the charming Weaver. They all created memorable characters and played some of their best roles.

The picture's soundtrack fully immerses us in the atmosphere of the '80s. The Oscar nominated song by Ray Parker makes you ask yourself once again: "If there's something strange in your neighborhood Who you gonna call?", Save the day - gives you a sense of the atmosphere of the impending collapse, and the upbeat Cleanin` up the town, sets you up to take everything that's happening not too seriously. Elmir Bernstein's compositions are not as good. While his music also does a good job of setting the atmosphere, it can be a bit too pathosy at times.

The film lacks some dynamics (especially during the action) and a bit of humor. The rest of the film is in one word: excellent. An original idea, wonderful actors and good, for its time, special effects. All of this is in "Ghostbusters", an exemplary sci-fi comedy that is on a par with such masterpieces of the genre as "Back to the Future" and "Groundhog Day".
