Story Movie

The postwar years. Police officer Goro Murakami has his gun stolen on a bus. In his search for the missing weapon, he is forced to visit many parts of Tokyo, including secret hideouts, slums, and vacant lots. Meanwhile, several murders are committed using the stolen gun.

Review 4K Movie

Rookie cop Goro Murakami has his gun stolen on a bus. He desperately sets out to find it. He is kind, naive, and persistent. His partner (Sato), on the other hand, is a cunning, calm family man. It’s as if he were the same person, only in the future.

The film has a simple plot: an investigation unfolds, revealing all the dark corners of the city. But Kurosawa added something heartfelt—touching irony, drama, deep meaning, realism, and philosophy. Truly, a masterful piece of work by the director.

Many will say it’s just an ordinary detective story. But believe me, it’s one of the best films in the history of world cinema.
