The duel scene steals breath, makes you shrink from tension and involuntarily bite your hand, surviving for both Damon and Driver. Is it worth going to the movie? Of course! Just for this pure adrenaline rush. At 77m, Scott has already shown how scary it is when a man with a cold weapon stands against you and wants to kill you. The 'duelists' made people feel incredible vulnerability to steel. And to feel how close death walked with the military people of that era.

The last duel 45 years later does the same, but this time using the spectacular developments of Gladiator, Kingdom and Robin Hood. The duel between Matt and Adam will become one of the most watched moments of action cinematography, as an independent video. It's worth it.

But let's move on. Historicity. Nuuu. Ridley did not bother with historicity, creating the classic Hollywood Middle Ages. Not the one in which at the age of 40 is already an old man, but at 18, half of the teeth are missing. Pastoral, all clean, pretty and with plucked eyebrows. Someone even dyed blond. That is, it could have been better, but I've seen it all before. And about the same. Scott did not offer anything new. No, you will not be disappointed, but you will not be surprised either.

Plot.

Well, in general, what is this film about? The story of a strong woman? The story of a real knight? The story of the fall? No. These are not three stories, no matter how hard Scott tries to sell it to us. This is the same story told three times, eating more than 2.5 hours of screen time. And it's frustrating. And also, due to the fact that Scott has not yet decided what he has here - the first me too in history, a historical drama, the hour of the judgment or Rasemon, the final product turned out to be shapeless. And even unfinished. Although still interesting.

Actors

Damon is very good. Here he corresponds to the era. Driver, Affleck and Comer periodically look like people from the 21st century, by the will of fate thrown into the world of bonfires in the squares. The king and queen looked good. Interesting characters.
