Archaeologist Karl Schiller concludes that the mythical "Ring of the Nibelung" is in Dracula's castle in the Carpathian Mountains. Karl shares his discovery with his twin brother Franz, a gambler, and tells him about an ancient amulet that will protect him from vampires, if they do exist. Franz decides to get ahead of his brother, steals the amulet from him and sets off on his own to Transylvania to get the golden ring. Franz spends the night in a village tavern near the castle and forgets the amulet. Soon he finds himself in the castle and meets the Countess de Vries, who turns out to be a vampire.

Transylvania. Everyone knows Count Dracula's castle. Here, on the night of the full moon, a bloody satanic ritual takes place. Countess Dracula gathers virgins from the nearby village under one roof in order to drink the blood of innocent girls, with the help of her servants and, most importantly, the Ring of the Nibelungs. The servants are ready to tear the girls apart so that their blood flows down them and the countess can take a bloody bath to preserve her eternal youth. The Schiller twins set off in turn to search for the Ring of the Nibelungs. The first of them will encounter many surprises and one fateful encounter in the castle, while the second, who follows his brother, will face dangerous adventures that could cost him his life.

This is the kind of fairy tale, which could be described as delusional, that awaits viewers who want to immerse themselves in yet another story about Count Dracula, who will hardly appear in the film at all. The countess, played by the charming actress Rosalba Neri, will rule the roost here. The viewer will see her naked body throughout the film, as is customary in many films with her and to which her fans are already quite accustomed. Rosalba's character is interesting and well developed.

The film itself is pleasing to the eye and very easy to watch, without any burden. The film is full of merits that will be appreciated and seen first and foremost by those who are interested in this genre of cinema. The film leans towards Eurocult, as all the attributes of the genre are in place. Vampires, bloody rituals, mysticism, naked girls, an atmosphere of fear and all kinds of transformations, dead servants, one of whom is a thug who makes you smile—what else do you need for a dose of cinematic pleasure? Absolutely nothing. All this feast for the cinephile is presented very skillfully and in measured doses by the film's directors. Luigi Batzella and Joe D'Amato do not stoop to empty trash, leaving room in the film for intelligent and thoughtful things.
Almost all of the action takes place in an ancient castle, not without a Gothic component, which is enhanced by the props and surroundings. The film has an interesting ending, harsh and gloomy. There will never be another film like this one. After all, the era of the 1970s, with its spontaneity, lightness, and permissiveness, has faded away and become the heritage of film buffs and Eurocult enthusiasts around the world.
