Story Movie

Margo works as a moderator for a popular video-sharing site. She has to review content ranging in severity from mild to extreme, and one day her attention is drawn to a series of staged videos that, to her, appear to show real murders. Her superiors are unwilling to take any action, so Margo takes it upon herself to investigate and discovers that the videos reenact scenes from the cult horror film *Faces of Death*.

Review 4K Movie

I'm not sure how many people are actually familiar with the original Faces of Death, but you should know that Daniel Goldhaber's new film acts less like an actual remake, and more like a meta commentary on remakes in general. Which is to say that you don't need to be familiar with the original movie in order to enjoy this new one.

And I personally did enjoy it! Underneath all of the gruesome and gory violence, there's a message about how social media is having a negative effect on all of us, since it is constantly bombarding us with terrible and questionable content. But that theme doesn't feel as preachy or as heavy-handed as I thought it was going to be.

Throw in a solid lead performance by Barbie Ferreira and an unhinged villainous performance by Dacre Montgomery, and you got yourself a pretty decent horror flick!
