Review 4K Movie

In general, it is hard to call 'Dawn of the Dead' a full-fledged remake of the legendary George Romero film. The only thing in common here is that the main action takes place in a supermarket and a bunch of main characters are trying to find a way out of Hell of the Dead, which filled the whole city and, most likely, the whole world. But all the differences only went to the benefit of the film - now we are not stupid slow dead, which you can mock with all the tools that can be found in the supermarket. The zombies here are really fierce and scary, even when they're just walking slowly in an unknown direction. This means that as soon as they smell a victim they'll immediately, with frantic screams and terrifying speed, rush in their direction and fight their way until they either catch up with them or get shot in the head. It's scary and creepy.

What also pleases the new film is the clearly written characters. There is even some dramatic moments, something you don't often see in zombie horror movies. And all thanks to the convincing acting - Ving Rhames, Sarah Polley and Jack Ueber, you empathize with them all throughout the movie. There is no place for comedic slayings of the dead and funny deaths of the main characters. Everything is tragic and serious, the creators create an atmosphere with only despair and hopelessness. In addition, the conflict between the people forces them to eventually leave the temporary shelter, which by no means leads to a happy ending.

All in all, one of the best zombie thrillers to date. So many movies have been made about the dead that you probably can't review them all. But truly scary and 'smart' - a few. Dawn of the Dead combines the scary dead, good action (a scene with chainsaws in the buses!) and a dramatic plot. There are, of course, some funny moments, like the sniper rifle firing off the crowd, but they're just to make sure it's not too depressing. Instead of watching a senseless zombie slaughter, here you worry about the main characters and spend the whole movie waiting for someone to eventually make it out alive. And the denouement is even scarier than the beginning. So watch, watch, watch!
