Story Movie

"The Toxic Avenger Part III: The Last Temptation of Toxie" (1989) continues the saga of Tromaville's mutant hero, Toxie. Directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, the film explores Toxie's struggle with fame and normalcy, all while facing a new threat from the villainous Apocalypse Inc. Packed with Troma's trademark irreverent humor, over-the-top violence, and social satire, this 4K cult classic maintains the DIY charm of the original with enhanced visuals. A must-watch for fans of B-movies, it combines superhero action, horror, and comedy in a uniquely absurd cinematic experience.

Review 4K Movie

Let's start with the fact that the third movie was filmed in parallel with the second. Not that it was even filmed, it was initially part of the second movie, but then it was decided to cut it out and present it to the audience separately. It is easy to guess that in such a situation no one would re-shoot the already finished footage, especially in our case, where we are talking about the Troma film company. Toxic Avenger 3 is not without some inconsistencies with the previous movie. For example, I don't believe that Toxic Avenger would fall for provocation and agree to work for Apocalypse, because in the second part he already fought with them and sort of found out all their dark plans about Tromaville, the hometown of our superhero.

However, we can turn a blind eye to the problems with the plot - the main thing is to make us laugh. Let's talk better about what the movie is. Since almost all the scenes filmed in Japan were included in the second movie, it goes without saying that no one ridicules the East in the threequel. Here Lloyd Kaufman for some reason decided to go through his own franchise "The Toxic Avenger" and touched a little more the work of the film company "Troma". Thus, before us is a real self-parody, which unlike the previous two films, what to hide, will laugh only those people who have watched all parts of "Toxic Avenger".

This time the humor is over the top. As for the second movie, I have already expressed my opinion that Lloyd Kaufman's outright mockery of Eastern culture is unacceptable, although it is outrageously funny. This time the humor has descended to the level of toilet humor, as such humor is called. It is interesting that there are twice as many vulgar jokes, but there are fewer original finds. Yes, "The Toxic Avenger" still remains a faithful creation of kitschy art, but in the third part it is quite noticeable that the influence of kitsch on the movie is ridiculed just the opposite. The movie is a far cry from the first part, which I'm still willing to call art, but it's worth watching once.
