Story Movie

Riddick has spent the last five years on the run among forgotten worlds at the back of the galaxy, hiding from the mercenaries who put a price on his head. Now the fugitive finds himself on the planet Helion, home to a progressive multinational society conquered by Lord Marshal, a fanatic determined to enslave humanity with an armada of his warriors, the Necromongers.

After escaping from an underground prison where temperatures ranged from arctic nights to volcanic days, Riddick meets Kaira, the last surviving woman from earlier in his life. His attempts to free himself and Kaira lead them aboard the Necromonger's main ship, where he must face Lord Marshall in an apocalyptic battle not for life but for death.

Review 4K Movie

Any fiction nowadays is a candy in a beautiful wrapper. Sometimes it happens that the candy is bitter with predictability of the plot, endless pathos about freedom, honor and courage, as well as the most unpleasant - not justified marketing. There are a hundred times a day you see a heartfelt commercial that seems to hypnotize, forcing you to buy a ticket to the movie. In fact, I want to believe that 100-150 of my blood rubles I gave not for the movie, and the fund for starving children in Africa. And neither me, nor Africa from this has not become better. 'Chronicles of Riddick' is bitter in some places, but otherwise it's the best sci-fi epic in recent times.

Before watching 'Chronicles', I managed to get my hands on the prequel, the movie 'Black Hole'. The movie sparkled with humor in some places, shone with good special effects, but killed with its similarity to Camiron's 'Aliens'. Perhaps, it was because of the 'kinship' to the head mutants, 'Black Hole' and bogged down in the eponymous place. But the movie had one very strong plus in the face of a bald uncle, called Mark Vincent, aka Vin Diesel. The first time I saw this type in Spielberg's 'Saving Private Ryan', but then, of course, I didn't know who he was, but still his role stuck in my memory. The movie itself had an impact. Diesel's main plus is his endless charm, which is what the creators of 'Chronicles of Riddick' relied on.

To say that the movie pulls solely at the expense of Diesel - nothing to say. Like any movie, 'Chronicles' has its flaws and its advantages. And if we put aside the arguments about the acting skills of Vin and the whole cast, we will see the tremendous work done by the creators of the movie. First of all - special effects (of course!). A beautiful picture is a bait for the mass audience, and therefore - the key to the success of the picture. I, too, love to be made beautifully, and was happy to watch the movie for the heck of it today. Especially, if we take into account the complete stagnation in my favorite genre of space 'shooters'. And it's still a long time to wait for 'Avatar'.

There is no doubt that I see 'Chronicles of Riddick' as pop. But as I said about the recent 'Transformers' - it's the right kind of pop. And you want to watch it again and again. The film is full of sparkling humor, bright colors, and most importantly it runs on diesel. I was annoyed by the scene where Riddick was showing off with the 'hedgehog', but the episodes with the mercenaries were very pleasant. And there's not much more to say. 'The Chronicles of Riddick' is one of the best space movies of recent times.
