Great Britain, the not-too-distant future. A deadly new virus has hit the country, killing hundreds of thousands of residents. The government isolates the infected area with a wall. 30 years later, the virus re-emerges. A special forces team is sent to the infected area to search for possible methods of fighting the virus.

Generally, I'm not very fond of movies of this genre, and 'Doomsday', judging by the numerous announcements, seemed to me almost a horror movie. (And the name of Neil Marshall, of course, did its job). When I saw the poster of 'The Day', I panicked and began to seriously fear for my psyche. Judging by the poster, the day as a temporal characteristic is absent in the movie. But the free ticket did its job, and at the appointed hour I was in the theater.

What can I say: the movie is not scary. Unpleasant moments can be counted on fingers (so, a couple of severed hands and heads - trifles, in a word. True fans of violence will be disappointed).

The storyline is noticeably lame, but if Neil Marshall had made a parody, 'Doomsday' would have been worth it! Because I haven't laughed so hard in a movie theater in a long time. Judge for yourself: according to the script, after the virus England was divided into 3 parts: one (London) - where lives a part of the population who managed to escape the virus, in the other two - the virus zone - the population is divided into 2 warring camps: punks (!) and medieval knights (!!!). Thanks at least they didn't show dinosaurs (there's no telling what kind of mutations could have arisen). Although, apparently, none of the audience would not be surprised.

But the main character of the picture is, of course, a brand new Bentley, which the heroine Rona Mitre finds while escaping from knights and punks suffering from cannibalism. What a car! And headlights immediately winked, and the body shone properly. And got out of all the trouble without a single (!) scratch. A dream, in a word.

And then begins the most spectacular part of the movie - the chase, rock music and thrash-trash-trash. Brutal. Meat. Call it what you want. But it's a must-see. It feels like you're speeding along to a screaming Marilyn Manson (substitute your favorite band), and all the pursuers behind you are crashing into each other and exploding. Unforgettable.
