Former UN employee Jerry Lane finds himself in the epicenter of an epidemic of an unknown virus that turns people into zombies in seconds. Trying to find an antidote to the virus, Lane travels with his group almost all over the world affected by the epidemic. Why watch.

Zombie horror has always been very cozy within the confines of a small budget, just so long as there was enough money for quality makeup. Thus was born a whole host of masterpieces from "Dawn of the Dead" to "A Zombie Named Shaun." Summer blockbuster with an insane budget and Brad Pitt in the title role, although it does not contain scenes of eating guts because of its age rating, but was, in the end, a spectacular and successful movie. Although Hollywood was sure that the movie would fall into the depths of the box-office and drag down the careers of those involved in its creation, in particular director Marc Forster, whose timid adoration I am. This bald German, who looks like a villain from the old Bond films, has an extremely versatile filmography, with Oscar-winning tearjerkers ("Christopher Robin") alongside megadramas ("Monster's Ball") and megablockbusters ("Quantum of Solace").

From the dark book by Max Brooks, which de jure serves here as a literary basis, there are no horns and legs left. The plot was changed, the script was rewritten, some parts of the movie were reshot and remounted to make the ending more coherent. Even Damon Lindelof managed to mock the text, among others (if you have burned in the area just below your back from the series "Staying Alive" or from "Prometheus", then all questions to this guy). Yes, it's like these zombies have no appetite (the apocalypse comes without a single drop of blood) and the movie certainly doesn't try to push the boundaries of the genre in any way, but it does its best to pass the two hours within those boundaries in an entertaining way. And I'm still holding out hope that Pitt and Paramount will make a sequel and convince David Fincher to direct it.
