In the not-too-distant future, a powerful corporation runs prisons where it uses the inhabitants as cheap labor. Ricky is sentenced to prison time for killing a triad boss who was involved in the death of his girlfriend. Ricky quickly learns the internal prison rules, where the inmates are in various crews that run certain aspects of prison life.

He soon falls into disfavor with the guards by protecting and supporting an innocent and the prison staff begins to take revenge on him. Ricky is perfectly skilled in martial arts. Very soon both guards and prisoners realize that it is useless to contact Ricky: he can bear any pain and with a single blow of his fist is able to pierce a man's chest. However, the warden has no intention of giving up....

Review 4K Movie

An old Chinese movie. I'll tell you about the title - the original one is written here by the way - Lick Wong, which from the Cantonese dialect of the Chinese language means literally the King of Power or just Silach (in the state Chinese language sounds differently - Li Wang).

First let me say about the main character. Since the movie was filmed in Hong Kong, the original language is a Cantonese dialect of Chinese. His name sounds like this - Ho Lei Kei (Ho is a surname), respectively Lei Kei in 'anglicized' Hong Kong is consonant with the Western name Ricky - hence the alternative title of the film. If you pronounce his name in plain Chinese - it's not so beautiful - just He Li Qi....

The movie is extremely violent! It's just full of bloody prices and the like. The plot is a bit weak. I understand that it's a sci-fi movie, and it's about the future (the movie is from '91), but Ricky isn't a robot, he's a regular person, but what he does is beyond my comprehension. An attempt was made to explain - 'how on earth could he do that?' but it's not serious.

At times the absurdity reaches its climax and 'just' makes you laugh. Actually, the movie is based on the comic book series of the same name..... So there all this was more or less tolerable. But in the movie it looks quite funny, especially for the current generation!

The movie will appeal to fans of Asian cinema, the more so because it is rare - it was not easy to find in its time, as well as to all lovers of bloody messes.

By the way, those who watched or will watch it I will tell you one thing - on the plate under the rice was written in Chinese the following - Jia You, which literally means - add fuel, and in this context - GIVE! HOLD ON!
