Story Movie

A woman who lived an ordinary life and did not stand out from the crowd, found herself obsessed with revenge. She is going to kill everyone who is to blame for the fact that her 11-year-old sister lost her mind because of drug use. She often seductively lures her victims and then blows them to hell with a shotgun that just can't miss.

Review 4K Movie

Awesome movie. The dynamics of this movie hits from its very beginning and that pace stays throughout the movie. But it's not even about the plot. From the very beginning, the incredibly fast pace of the narrative is thrust upon us.

At the beginning of the movie, Coffy takes revenge on drug dealers for the death of someone close to her from drug addiction. But soon she realizes that the problem must be eliminated completely. It is necessary to destroy the organizers, and she can do it ...

Pam Grier plays a very strange for the American movie female image - a heroine who behaves like an alpha male. Even sexual abuse can't break her - it's just an excuse to get revenge.

It's ironic that a woman who suffered severe sexual abuse as a child has grown up to become the heroine of an 'exploitation' movie herself.

Despite the fact that many of the stunts are poorly staged and the script is more like an impromptu, I like this movie very much for its dynamics.

As for Pam Grier's performance, for me there is no question as to who played the best female role in 1973. In my opinion, it wasn't Barbra Streisand (Two Hearts Meeting), Jacqueline Bisset (American Night) or Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist). My choice is simple - Pam Grier in the role of Coffy.

Bottom line: there's a real zaniness to this movie, and that's always mesmerizing. Watching 'Coffy' you begin to understand 'where' 'Jackie Brown' and 'Kill Bill' came from.

It should be noted that the movie was made by a very talented director - Jack Hill started with Francis Coppola and Jack Nicholson in Roger Corman's projects.
