A team of explorers goes in search of lost Indian tribes in the heart of the mysterious Amazon jungle. Enjoying the scenery of the great river, they do not suspect that their guide is a crazy hunter, obsessed with the idea of catching a giant snake. No one believes his tales of the mystical predator until the first victim appears and their journey turns into a fight for survival. The anaconda doesn't wait for hunters, it is a hunter itself.

Anaconda is a film that I love and often rewatch, even though, compared to other films, there is nothing particularly amazing about it. It doesn't have an original plot, impressive special effects, or scary moments, but in the 90s, they were just starting to make such films, and Anaconda was the most expensive one, with famous actors. Now I can't call the film super interesting, but I watch it simply because I enjoy immersing myself in the story and reliving it.

Anaconda is dear to me as a film that somehow calms me down instead of causing anxiety and fear. I even like Jennifer Lopez, a Hollywood diva with a nasty temper, although I didn't find anything interesting in her other films. In the first minutes of her appearance in Anaconda, she broke the established stereotype, and I saw before me a girl without kilograms of makeup and Botox, but smart, successful, and confident in the success of her film.

The other characters, the cameraman, the captain, and a couple of sound engineers, are also portrayed as quite respectable, with no one allowing themselves to throw tantrums or use foul language. And there is none of the frantic bustle, feverish whirlwind, or rush to devour the characters in Anaconda. People think quickly, act according to the situation, and losing someone, considering that there were originally seven main characters (including John Voight's character), is incredibly sad. There is something sweet, simple, but beautiful about this story. Whether it's the endless jungle, the dilapidated ships, or perhaps not a super-giant creature, but a rather decent anaconda.

They don't make movies like this anymore, and viewers are tired of this story; they want something new, like the silly Transformers. Maybe it's to look at Megan Fox's breasts, or maybe it's just the influence of advertising and special effects. But I will watch Anaconda over and over again, and I will never get tired of it.
