Northern Great Plains, 1719. Naru, a Comanche girl, wants more than anything to be a good hunter, but her family does not take her passion seriously. When a group of experienced hunters goes into the forest in search of a tribesman attacked by a puma, Naru as an experienced tracker goes with them and soon notices strange tracks. The rescue of his companion is a success, but the fight with the wild cat is not so good for Naru. Not wanting to accept the fact that her brother was recognized as the best hunter, the girl decides to track down and kill the strange predator by all means, and she does not even guess that her prey - a representative of a highly developed alien civilization, who came to Earth in search of a worthy opponent for the fight.

And I can't understand how. In the times of the conditional first and second 'Terminator' the question of agenda was not so acute and there were normal heroines. The same Sarah Connor was written logically, vitally. Her motivation was simple and clear. Her character and actions were natural.

There are such heroines occasionally and now, but such movies as 'Prey', 'Terminator. Dark Fates' and straight as mock logic and female images.

The heroine of 'Prey' can't kill a rabbit, but wants to hunt for cannibal lions; she supposedly navigates perfectly in the forest, but easily gets into a swamp; she assures that she is ready for any predators, but having met a huge rabid bear, for some reason fixes a small weak bow until the last second to make a single useless shot....

There are many such examples in the movie. The apotheosis is 'I saw red lightning in the forest, I must go and hunt whatever lives there'.

What???? WHAT???? What's wrong with the writers' brains and cause and effect relationships? What kind of beast can shoot lightning that could be hunted?

Or was the heroine deliberately made such a senseless selfish fool, willing to cause trouble for the tribe and put others at risk for her own idiotic desires?

Pretty pictures don't save idiotic plots anymore. You don't empathize with the heroine, which is the main condition for immersion in the story. She's just infuriating.
