In the center of the plot is the story of Niels Coxman (Liam Neeson) - a snow blower driver clearing the roads of a small town in Colorado, for which he was even called the Person of the Year. However, the quiet measured life of the hero and his wife (Laura Dern) comes to an end when the bandits from the local drug cartel kill the son of Niels. Soon, a revenge-seeking snow blower turns into a tough and terrifying enemy of the underworld, which no one knows in person. Review 4K Movie
In Hollywood, it's easy to become a hostage to the image. Someone is struggling with this, someone is putting up, someone is drinking too much. The success of The Hostage (yes, ironically) predetermined the roles offered for Liam Nisson, but I would consider it a worthy retirement for the length of cinematic years. He managed to play many worthy roles. And now in his track record there are enough films with good plots and images in which you can unfold the actor’s inside.
“Snow Blower” is not 10/10. This is a strong middling, which will not allow you to regret the time spent on viewing. The plot is not teeming with wow-twists. Although, to be honest, it does not contain any such twists at all. The narration is conducted without haste, which allows us to gradually “digest” what we have seen.
For myself, I highlighted a couple of points and would like to share them with you. I am very impressed by the fact that the main character is a simple person. Yes, he knows how to shoot a rifle and cut off its barrel, but seven spans in his forehead are not necessary for such talents. And he hits just like a man. No tricks, elaborate captures and elegant shots. Just picked it up and gave it in the face.
The second point is controversial. I don’t know the motivation of the creators, the sources of their inspiration, but when I watched it, Fargo smelled very strongly with Tarantino's touch. And it seemed to me not tracing paper, but simply an ingenious interpretation of the works of great figures of cinematic art.
What is the result? I advise. The film is really good.
