And now, 20 years later, I wanted to see this fairy-tale film again and look at it anew from the perspective of a more mature age, through the lens of the years that have passed. And here’s what I can tell you:

The film is just as captivating as ever—it draws you in from start to finish, immersing the viewer in a magical, fairy-tale atmosphere, in a fantastic and enthralling world so skillfully crafted by the director. They don’t make movies like this anymore… The film has almost no computer graphics, and that’s its greatest strength! All the special effects look exceptionally natural and believable! Watching it brings nothing but joy and delight—and that’s considering the film was made in 1987! Back then, they knew how to make truly high-quality films that would stand the test of time! A wonderful, captivating plot. Its magnificent execution. The cast, the music—everything is top-notch! In a word, a classic of the ’80s!
