Story Movie

Bangkok. Cole Reed once served in special forces and the police, and now works as a bodyguard for Tibu, the owner of KMG, a major shipping company. On the eve of the deal to sell the company, Cole and his client are attacked by local police officers—the boss is killed, and Cole becomes the prime suspect. While on the run from the law, he decides to track down the masterminds behind the assassination attempt on his own. Disguised as one of the attackers—a mercenary from Tibou’s agency who was killed in the assault—he infiltrates a cargo ship owned by KMG, where he soon discovers people being smuggled illegally in one of the locked containers. Determined to protect the captives, Cole engages in a fight with the ship’s armed crew.

Every time I describe my impressions of yet another action movie featuring a brave, brutal, bald, unshaven Brit, my thoughts aren’t exactly varied—I could just copy and paste my previous reviews, and there wouldn’t be much of a difference. So this time, too, there isn’t much new to say. It’s everything we, as fans of action movies as straight as a railroad tie, love.

An honest and very cool lone hero who won’t tolerate injustice, always helps the weak, and, of course, gives the bad guys a very harsh beating—using his hands, feet, bladed weapons, and firearms. The “Under Siege” + “Die Hard” concept is executed pretty well—the ship and the confined space.

The film has good pacing, solid action, blood as expected, and just the right amount of brutality. Jason is brave, brutal, taciturn, and cool—and it works. I also liked the action-oriented Annabelle Wallis—she’s attractive and cool too, not quite like Jason, but still. The rest are mostly extras there to be killed off, though the captain of the enemy ship is a bit more memorable.

All in all, what else is there to say? If you love cool action movies and Jason—go for it. It’s solid and well-made; a treat for fans of the genre.
