The Fall of Olympus is perhaps one of my favorite action films, which I have watched more than once. This is a powerful, testosterone action film, which is downright thoroughly imbued with the spirit of American patriotism and the pathos that really only colors the picture.

The plot is quite simple - the White House is captured by terrorists, passing through all levels of protection like a knife through butter. The president is hostage, the military is powerless, and the only one who can save the situation is former agent Mike Banning, who manages to single-handedly sneak into the besieged building. And of course, only Banning is able to deal with the threat to national security.

"The Fall of Olympus" is a film so stamped and exaggeratedly pretentious that it simply cannot be taken seriously. But at the same time, it is a great action movie with a brutal main character and excellent action. The fighting scenes here are actually staged and filmed perfectly, driving, plus the R rating adds a certain liveliness to them. Fans of action movies should like it.

Cast also pleases - starring always bearded and brutal Gerard Butler, who, as always, is great in the form of an action hero. Shootings, fights, epic phrases - all this fits Butler so organically that in the film he is literally like a fish in water. Aaron Eckhart played the role of the President of the United States, with which he also coped well. The image of the head of the United States also turned out to be heroic in its own way - Benjamin Asher, although he does not turn his neck to terrorists, is still capable of showing sufficient willpower. Well, in the secondary role of the speaker, we have Morgan Freemer, who is just good in himself, as always.

Visually, the film is good, even if the imperfect graphics are sometimes striking, but in general the picture is decent and pleasing to the eye. The soundtrack also deserves a mention - again, overly pretentious and heroic, but perfectly suited to The Fall of Olympus.

I would definitely recommend The Fall of Olympus to any action movie lover, it is a project that definitely deserves attention, at least for a one-time viewing. To some extent, the tape can be called old-school, made according to the patterns of old action films, but meeting all modern standards of Hollywood attractions. So go ahead, two hours of brutal spectacle are provided for you.
