The Fall of the Angel 4K is the third time Gerard Butler has the opportunity to reincarnate as Mike Banning's secret service agent. Each time, Banning rescues the US president from an international conspiracy with an expressionless face, and, apparently, decides to continue the tradition. The president himself “turned black”, so to speak (instead of the handsome Aaron Eckhart from Olympus and London, the on-screen Americans elected the wise Morgan Freeman as president), and it is easy to see the idea - an encouraging sight for Americans already real, in which Barack Obama is still president . One way or another, Banning returns again to save Freeman, and kick the adversary, only this time the not-so-cunning action movie is trying to play on relevance: from drones and Russian spies to fake news and the inhabitants of the Oval Office.

The main premise driving the action is that Benning was set up. Now he is the main suspect in the assassination attempt on the president. The former secret agent has to hide in the vastness of the USA, including in the shelter of his father, a crazy Vietnam veteran.

The Fall of the Angel UHD feels as if it were assembled from a cliche of battle scenes. In many ways, “Fall” resembles the series “24 Hours,” and often tries to repeat the adventures of the brave Kiefer Sutherland, but, again, due to certain political circumstances, “Fall of the Angel” went a little too far in terms of absurdity. The lack of real confidence in action and the rejection of the laws of Newtonian physics are not surprises, but rather add to the entertainment. Changing the tone of the film to make it more frivolous would be beneficial, but here we have a serious political drama (right), so even the scene after the credits cannot dilute the dull action movie.

Gerard Butler, despite his frankly illogical choice of projects, has recently shown that he is a good actor. “Fall of the Angel” is another passing film for him; in the script, his hero is represented by the monosyllabic granite hero of an action movie. All his exploits are so routine that they smack of humiliation. From time to time, Butler squints slyly, especially in scenes where he is portrayed as an unjustly pursued renegade, but in general, The Fall refers more to bad recordings in the actor’s filmography. Jada Pinkett Smith is needed in the film solely to give seriousness, Morgan Freeman spends half the time in a coma, and it is not difficult to find out the villains in the caste.
