Story Movie

The girl comes to New Orleans to find her missing father, a Vietnam veteran. Asking for the help of a retired Marine Corps scout and now an unemployed sailor Chance Boudreau, the girl learns that her father was an urban beggar, and soon the police find his corpse in a burnt warehouse. But Chance is sure that this is not an accident, and together with the girl he will organize his own investigation.

Soon he learns about a certain gang organizing a safari for the rich, where live people are released as game - useless vagrants. The bandits do not need anyone to know about their activities. A merciless hunt begins on Chance and his girlfriend.

"Hard Target" is the first experience in the American film industry of the legendary director from Hong Kong, John Woo. By inviting Jean-Claude Van Damme to play the main role (not yet released in circulation), the Chinese magician (time dilation) was right, the film came out very dynamic and tense.

New Orleans, a group of well-trained professionals organizes the hunt for humans. Their clients are millionaires who, oversaturated with other joys in life, want to try new sensations and entertainment. Their victims are ordinary vagabonds with a military past, who have no relatives, no past or present, they are people who have nothing to lose except a stew of soup for the homeless. But one of the victims, it turns out, has relatives ... A young and pretty girl is looking for her father, whom she has not seen for many years, to find him she hires a sailor Chance Boudrow.

This motion picture contains (as well as in other works to John Woo) time dilation and the director's talisman white doves (a symbol of hope). Firefights are brutal and dynamic, and Van Damme, as always, shows great stretch, crushing enemies left and right. It is also worth mentioning Lance Henrikson and Arnold Waslow, who perfectly embodied the main villains on the screen, the villains who are not the first to step over the pain and suffering of their victims, they are professionals, they enjoy their bloody work.

An excellent action movie of the early 90s!
