The second part of the wonderful and colorful animated film "Shrek" was just doomed to great success! The second film after its release in 13 days, collected 260 million dollars at the U.S. box office, and worldwide receipts from the second film were much higher than the first. The first Shrek film made $267 million at the North American box office and $455 million worldwide, while the second film made $441 million in America and $920 million worldwide.

The same good atmosphere, great humor, beloved old characters and a couple of bright new characters. This is the case when the sequel surpasses the original by 100%! Both children and adults will laugh at the jokes. The plot of the cartoon is exciting and very interesting. And also the cartoon "Shrek 2" expanded its borders, now the story takes place in a very distant kingdom, with its own people and rules. This kingdom reminded me a lot of Hollywood (just remember the big sign "FAR FAR AWAY" - it's just like in Hollywood).

A few words about the characters:

Shrek - He's still the same cute green troll he was in the first film. However, here his great love for Fiona pushes him to take an unexpected step. Shrek decides to change for her, just as Fiona did out of love for him. "But I love Fiona more..."

Donkey - This character hasn't changed either - still the same comical, chatty, but very cute. In the second film, he gets a new addition to the family (the very final and original scene with the flying donkeys is awesome!). "I'll have to look for a job..."

Fiona - She came with Shrek to her parents, hoping they would be happy for her that she had finally found her happiness. But she was sorely mistaken. Her parents had no idea that their daughter had become a troll. All for the sake of the one she loved, the one she was truly happy with. But then her parents realized that for Fiona, this was her life, that she loved Shrek very much. "I've changed for you, Shrek. Think about it."

Puss in Boots - This Mask of Zorro with the hat and the sword. Very cute and good character, I liked him a lot. "Now beg for mercy Puss in Boots!".

Prince Chaming - A real sex symbol of the Very Far Away Kingdom, a real hypocrite behind a beautiful mask. By the way, he reminds me of Nikolai Baskov in appearance. "His kiss, tender and fresh, could break evil spells."

Fairy Godmother - Everyone is used to the fact that such characters are, as usual, very kind, wise and pleasant. But things are different here. "Shrek 2" is the first cartoon in which this character is negative. It's just not mental for her that Fiona is married to Shrek and happy with him. After all, that, she thinks, is very wrong. "In no fairy tale do giants live happily ever after."

Love is the most important feeling in the world. Love is a force of nature. And to it, as "Shrek 2" shows us, everyone is submissive. Appearance is not the main thing, the main thing - the soul. As one song very correctly sings:

You love me as I am...

And the fact that Shrek and Fiona turned into people made me very happy. And so I was really sorry that they turned back into trolls at the end of the movie. But I still can't stop hoping for a fourth installment. Maybe unlikely, but what if they become human again there? I really hope so...
