Story Movie

Star Trek: Nemesis 4K 2002 Ultra HD 2160p
After the wedding of Commander William Riker and Councilor Diana Troy, the crew of the USS Enterprise detects a positronic signal on a planet near the Neutral Zone, where they find the B-4, a less perfect prototype android created by Dr. Soong, than Data.

This mystery remains unsolved, as at the same time Admiral Janeway orders the Enterprise to go to Romulus, where the Senate has been overthrown in a coup by Shinzon and his followers. Upon arrival on Romulus, the Enterprise discovers not only the most powerful ship they have ever encountered, but also a terrible secret concerning the new leader of the Romulan Empire, who plans to use a deadly weapon to destroy all life on the Federation's main planet, Earth.

Review 4K Movie

"He who looks at the star does not turn away," Leonardo da Vinci.

To be honest, I haven't seen a single episode of Star Wars, to my shame or happiness, I don't know. And I haven't watched the "fresh" Star Trek. What kind of birdie hummed in my ear about Star Trek: Retribution? Hardy's last name is in the credits. You just have to pull a string and the whole tangle unravels. And so it is with me. I started watching the movie in anticipation of seeing Tommy, and suddenly what happens on the screen, I was carried away even before the appearance of Shinzon. It is not easy to explain why it was interesting, but it was as if I were flying in an interplanetary ship with the main characters. Perhaps not even in human form, but as some other cosmic entity. And with the appearance of the villain Hardy, my interest, already heated, just boiled over.

In general, the role of the anti-hero for Hardy, a Londoner, is not new. You can say that now, in almost 2012 on the eve of the new coming "The Dark Knight Rises" by Christopher Nolan, where Tom Hardy star shines brightly in the guise of the monster Bane - the opposition Batman. Then there was the rapist and murderer Pierre Jackson from "WAZ: Torture Chamber" (2007) and the not-so-decent Michael Petersen ("Bronson", 2009).

Maybe I'm influenced by a bad habit of analysis, but Hardy's villain Shinzon came off as very ambiguous. Yes, he has perfidious and inhuman plans for our planet, and he is rude to the ladies... But the sadness in his eyes and the soft feminine lips (to quote the journalist Kevin Maher, Tom's permanent interlocutor) prevent me from kindling righteous rage against this creature. The altered nose, the shaved head, the thick layer of makeup designed to enhance the impression of villainy do their job, but the feeling of pity for him does not leave me. I feel even more sympathy for Pretor Shinzon than I do for Stuart Shorter ("Stuart: A Past Life," 2007). Though Pretor is pure fiction, the disabled bum Stuart is real. Tom knows how to evoke sympathy even in the mask of a villain. It is not for nothing that he wants everyone to love him.

Captain Picard, the central character in the picture, is positive wherever you look. His image is so sterile that you can't get anywhere near it. Neither is the yellow-eyed robot Data. I was amused by the space jargon and the teleportation device (useful little thing) - not unlike the telepods in Cronenberg's The Fly. The "star" ladies were somewhat disappointing. But then young Tommy looked like a real pro in front of his older colleagues. And I wondered why this "Startrek" was so important in his filmography, because it's a real Starstart.

At the end I confess again: My liking of the film does not depend on the director's name, the budget, or the star cast. If after watching it I have a desire to watch it again, at least by the corner of my eye, then the creation has hooked me. And the creation "Star Trek: Revenge" really got me. Maybe it was the tension between the main characters (Shinzon and Picard), or maybe I decided that the makeup of the characters would look good on me in real life. Advanced sci-fi fans will definitely find flaws here. I, on the other hand, looked at the eyes: yellow, gray, angry and sad, full of hope and pain, the eyes of those who fight for and against the Earth.

P.S.: Fans and admirers of Tom Hardy's talent I highly recommend watching this film, because, despite the fantastic genre, the actor's dramatic abilities are brilliantly displayed here. After all, to show true emotions, tragedy, pain and inconsistency of feelings, it is not always necessary to enter the scaffolding of the Hamstead Theater.
