However, Abrams retired to shoot his notorious "pew-pew-remakes" and it was decided to send Lin to "drive" instead of him on the ship "Enterprise", which together with its crew returns to the big screens in the 50th anniversary year since the appearance of the series " Star Trek". Captain Kirk and his loyal assistants, Commander Spock, Lieutenant Uhura, Chief Medical Officer Bones and the rest of the crew, are on a five-year mission, during which they are subjected to a powerful attack from unknown aliens. The latter are commanded by a certain Kroll, personally demonstrating who has the balls here, thereby destroying the Enterprise and leaving his team without essentials on a new unknown planet. Although they are in for a surprise like the Millennium Falcon. If Abrams can, then why can't others?

The main problem of the new "Star Trek" is its simplicity and alphabet. He does not even try to deceive the viewer and cheat. Classic? But Idris Elba promised something special, they say, the antagonist in his performance will be different from the usual. Aha! Searching for some miracle artifact and killing innocent citizens from right to left is hefty original, especially when between times you have to tell the enemy about your own plans in a stereotyped way. Lean, who gives some fans confidence and horrifies others, takes a quick start, but gets bogged down somewhere in the middle as the heroes prowl an unknown planet in search of salvation for themselves and others. Of course, Lin wouldn’t be Lin if he hadn’t shown action along the way. There are enough shooters and fist fights here, except that the cosmic epic is not enough, that's why the film does not capture, as befits its status, but it reveals, oh, a miracle, a motorcycle - cars, Lin, no way. Kirk, or in other words, the captain of Toretto, almost one to one performs the maneuver of a bald stuntman. This is what is called a subtle director's style and loyalty to tradition!

Obviously, the picture became even more plot-wise than the previous parts, but at the same time less inventive, but the illogicalities naturally remained, the culprit of which was mainly the main villain (not Lin). Who would have thought that a heavily made-up Elbe can be easily distinguished from a natural Elbe, and that it is only a couple of trifles to destroy a modern modernized ship, while an old one is almost impossible. Who in their right mind finances these "researchers" who, instead of being useful, permanently allow enemies to destroy their ships ?! And after a swift defeat, an easy victory comes, leaving a clear sense of dissonance. Although, we must assume that a cool song is capable of destroying enemies. Obviously, the director is more interested in action than the story itself, but without interesting plot moves it is tiresome, although various small "joys" saturated with familiar comic effects, in general, amuse and form a good entertainment. At least there's also good teamwork, chemistry between the characters, and the franchise's inherent adventure spirit that keeps the film afloat. But you shouldn't abuse it.
