The Hong Kong star Jackie Chan, even before he broke into Hollywood with a loud shout, shot in his homeland unusually high quality movies, which can now be safely called cult. One of these films “Armor of God”, as for me so the best that managed to do Chan for his entire career. The main character of the film, a small Chinese man Jackie, nicknamed Asian Hawk, steals in Africa ritual sword, which is one of the five parts of the legendary Armor of God, which are hunted by bad guys who decided to kidnap Jackie's ex-girlfriend, hoping that he will bring the kidnappers all the missing fragments. Jackie, as a positive hero, immediately rushes to rescue the girl, along with his best friend Alan and millionaire's daughter Mei, who needs a thrill. And throughout the movie we are waiting for great fights, good jokes and great Jackie Chan, in short a sea of purely positive emotions.

Many people know “Armor of God” first of all as a movie, on the set of which Jackie Chan got an injury, on the background of which all his other injuries may seem just a scratch, while performing one of the stunts Jackie fell from a tree, breaking his skull. He, you could say, was “one foot in the grave” and if not for the timely assistance of doctors, we would not see neither the trilogy “Rush Hour”, nor “Rumble in the Bronx”. But fortunately everything turned out well and Chan, after six months of downtime finished the movie, making it if not a masterpiece, then one of the best Hong Kong films in general. In “Armor of God” there is everything for which we love Jackie Chan, well staged, well-coordinated fights (so and want to call them fights) differing from the succession of similar (Van Damme, Segalovskogo, etc.) quality humor, beautiful girls (sultry Spanish Laura Forner), not the most intelligent secondary characters, interfering with their actions Jackie, and finally the main character Jackie Chan, cheerful and charismatic.
