Jack Black exudes charisma, as in his music videos, and tries to act silly, as he did before. I love him for that!

This is the first time I've watched a movie with Emma Myers not for her sake, but her character has little influence on the plot.

I liked Jason Momoa for the first time. Garrett “The Scavenger” impressed me.

Everything else: I am biased towards the Minecraft game. Many children love it, and it so happens that in my family there is a young fan who wholeheartedly (for now) adores this cubic world where you can create anything. After the PR campaign conducted by the film's creators (not only with the help of Oreo) and the film's actors (in particular Emma Myers, who used social media and managed to play the game).

Perhaps I am from the baby boomer generation, who were hooked on Sega or Dendy (depending on which console your rich friend had, whom you would visit and play with). Not all parents could afford to let their children do this, because children should not have their brains overloaded with the computer world). However, the idyllic solitude of console screens is coming to an end. It is being replaced by new game developers with rather strange plots. Among them is Minecraft. But let's not delve into the history of games. Let's talk about the film. What is so special about it?

First of all, it tells us about two generations of people: adults who have never grown up in their hearts and the new generation of zoomers. At the same time, each group has one skeptic who was forced to grow up before his time, and another dreamer whose knowledge or approximate knowledge makes him cool. It's just that dreamers are unlucky in this life and are forced to lead a miserable existence, especially in the shadow of their former glory. Well, let's be honest. No one wants to grow up. No one wants to take on responsibility, either early or late.

This film was created to show that you shouldn't give up if something doesn't work out. It's not enough to just dream in the earthly world. You have to do something to change your life for the better. That's why you can't do it alone. You need teamwork.

The film is easy to get into. It's almost like childhood, if you combine Looney Tunes: Back in Action and the modern world with Pixels. Only this time, Lady Lisa is replaced by a man with a square head and nose, and the arcade nerd is replaced by Jennifer Coolidge. This is a really funny moment in the film. The date, the flirting—it looks cute, but it doesn't affect the plot in any way. The relationships between the characters from Pixels... and Josh Gad, at least, influenced the outcome, and both fought against evil.

The funniest and most absurd thing is the fact that the characters are from the 80s, but they speak in modern slang. It's the same in the American dubbing. That is, such words were hardly invented in the 80s. This is a clear minus of the film, but apparently it was done for the modern generation so that they could understand the plot. They understand the long words of the older generation.

Overall, Minecraft has everything for fans. Iron golems, creepers, roasted duck from lava. And for the older generation, the cast is stunning, and there is a good moral, which is necessary for everyone who has given up, like the villainous Lugosha.
