"Minions: Gruvitation" tells the story of a very young and young Gru, who dreams of becoming part of a team of supervillains. However, when the interview doesn't go according to plan and they mock him, Gru decides to steal a certain artifact from them. He soon finds himself held hostage by one of them himself. Now only the Minions have the power to get their boss back.

It would seem that the "Ugly Me" franchise is explored length and breadth and to tell something new within it would be very difficult. However, the authors of this tape definitely succeeded. In fact, the events of this tape develop in two parallel directions. On one hand, representing a prequel of "Ugly Me" movie and telling the story of how Gru started to become the villain as we know him. On the other hand, it's about the Minions' attempts to save their boss, which actually boils down to an abundance of gags and sketches in the best Saturday Night Live tradition. In doing so, it succeeds equally well in both character development and entertainment.

The director of this film, Kyle Balda, has created a very light and at the same time soulful film that is literally watchable in the same breath. Pleasing atmosphere of warmth, kindness and fun, as well as lots of really funny moments that stick in your memory after watching it. Separately, I want to note the very high quality animation. Perhaps one of the most beautiful and realistic I've seen in a long time.

It is impossible not to note the star cast, which worked out to the maximum and to estimate their work is definitely worth watching the film.
