Story Movie

What was Mark Whitaker thinking? As an up-and-coming employee of Archer Daniels Midland Agribusiness Corporation (ADM), Whitaker suddenly becomes a snitch. Despite the fact that Whitaker reports to the FBI that the multinational company he works for is artificially keeping prices too high, he considers himself a hero, looking out for the interests of ordinary citizens and worthy of promotion. But in order to make his dreams come true, the FBI needs evidence, which is why Whitaker happily agrees to put on a special listening device, and in a briefcase to hide a tape recorder, imagining himself a kind of special agent, performing a top-secret mission.

Review 4K Movie

Bewilderment is the feeling I had while watching this movie, which I continue to feel after the movie is over. To somehow overcome it, I'll try to put the components of the movie in a nutshell.

The movie has Matt Damon, which in itself is neither bad nor good, I don't consider Damon an outstanding actor whose name alone makes any movie immediately good. Yes, here he convincingly plays his role as..... who? How to understand the essence of a man whose soul the director does not allow us to look into, only feeding the viewer throughout the movie with the voice-over voice-over voice fragments of the main character's past? In addition to Damon in the movie there are lengthy monologues and lengthy dialogues that seem to be pieces of an interesting mosaic.... But when the mosaic is assembled, the viewer experiences what I voiced at the very beginning.... “That's it? There is some light fun music, referring the viewer to the adventurous comedy genre, but.... why does the viewer never get a laugh?

There is in the movie a twitchy and torn, like an urchin, narrative, tossing the viewer through time and space without a visible purpose and plan. There is a huge number of minor characters, which the director throws in the viewer's face with broad gestures of the sower, not even bothering to introduce them into the movie.

It seems - a new face, an unexpected appearance, apparently this face will somehow play in the future and it will be explained to us what it is and who it is eaten with.... Hopes in vain... There is finally a supporting character, the role of which is played by an actor who once played a major role in the series 'Quantum Leap'.... I don't know what this is about... just nothing else to remember, not about the main character's cars to mention here?

There's intrigue! Yes! I was intrigued. The whole movie I was waiting for something exciting, fascinating, the very thing that so advantageously distinguishes feature films from documentaries! And I didn't wait... Soderbergh made a documentary...
