It is worth noting that it was this film that brought Jim Carrey to public attention. Having cemented his comedic success with films such as The Mask and Dumb and Dumber, he quickly transformed from a talented comedian and stand-up artist into a mega-popular movie star of the 1990s. One can have different opinions about the Ace Ventura films, calling them frankly silly and pseudo-comical, but it is difficult to refrain from laughing or at least smiling broadly at the sight of Jim Carrey, who demonstrates here everything that his free-spirited humorous nature is capable of. It would be extremely difficult to find his equal in the comedy film genre over the past thirty years!

Of course, there's no accounting for taste, but it seems that the second part of the adventures of the detective-zoologist turned out to be a little more interesting, primarily due to the transfer of the main plot action to the African expanses of our wonderful planet. Nevertheless, the first film absolutely deserves the admiration of fans of the delightful comedian's work for the reasons mentioned above. And yet it is a pity that we only have two films about the righteous but extremely reckless savior of the animal world!
