Story Movie

Cyrano de Bergerac, a brilliant Guards officer and famous poet, is in love with his cousin Roxanne, though she has no idea. As brave as Cyrano is on the battlefield and in countless duels, he is just as timid in love. Because of his excessively long nose, he is absolutely certain that Roxanne will reject his advances. Therefore, on behalf of his friend Christian, Cyrano writes her passionate love letters and beautiful poems.

Review 4K Movie

Oh! This movie is just amazing! I highly recommend it to everyone.

If you love the classics, you absolutely must watch this movie.

The plot is well-known—who doesn’t know the story of Cyrano? The fact that one man fought against a hundred opponents is still debated by historians, but as far as I understand, it’s true. Think about it—how rare is it for a poet to choose a real person as the hero of his work? After all, Cyrano de Bergerac really existed; he truly fought at Arras, and he was indeed a poet, an astronomer, and a scholar. And he probably fell in love, and he was probably so self-conscious about his nose. Otherwise, why would Rostand have chosen him as the hero? Some things, of course, are fictional. But the fact itself! After all, writers usually create a “composite character,” and their hero differs so much from the prototype (if there even is one) that you can’t even recognize him.

About the movie itself. How beautiful the poetry is! How beautifully everything is performed! The costumes of that era—a true feast for the eyes!
