Kevin McCallister is an 8-year-old boy in a large Chicago (and apparently wealthy) family. But because of the conflict with his older brother and coincidence of circumstances, at Christmas, he is left alone at home instead of traveling to Paris. But in the area empty for the holidays, robbers are operating, so Kevin will have to defend the house from them alone, which he turns into a kind of fortress.

The now classic Christmas comedy wasn't actually the first movie about a bully child. But it was she who gave birth to successful sequels - in the same year, the Difficult child came out with his toilet and stupid humor, if he became cute and exemplary for someone, then only for people with bad taste. Alone at home with all the sadistic fun is a very (even too much) Christmas movie - the family should be together at Christmas ... And all that. In fairness, it is worth noting that as a comedy the film rests on two whales - the last 30 minutes and the wild (not always good) charm of Macaulay Culkin, who outshines even such a bison as Joe Pesci. Otherwise, this is a typical family movie - not without edifying pathos, with a moderate tear and sweetness in the finale. But for the sake of two whales and a hidden third (Chris Columbus nevertheless made the two parts of the franchise popular) it's worth the patience. And why endure? The irony of fate - our Christmas hit - is also funny by a third. And nevertheless it looks with a kind feeling.
