Story Movie

King Kong 4K 1976 Ultra HD 2160p
A Petrox oil exploration expedition, cunningly joined by paleontologist and conservationist Jack Prescott, sets out for a little-explored Pacific island. Along the way, the expedition rescues a shipwrecked Hollywood star, Duane. On the island, the oilers encounter a giant gorilla, which the locals call Kong. The monkey kidnaps Duane, but Prescott manages to free her. The head of the expedition decides that since they could not find oil on the island, they could at least take the monkey out and earn money by showing it to the New York public. However, during the first performance, Kong gets free and starts smashing everything in his path.

Review 4K Movie

In the late 70's there was great ground for the creation of many hits of the 80's. For example, 'Alien' or 'Star Wars'. Certainly, 'King Kong' filmed in a modern manner can safely stand side by side with these films. Even in spite of the time, this picture still looks great - a very dynamic, exciting plot, in which the action is very justified, quite a good game of actors - a very young Bridges, the first role of Lang and also Grodin with them for the company. The whole company did a great job with the roles, each created their own unique and original image.

Well, now in order. Skull Island is very well done here, there are no those creepy and silly buildings - the stone skulls, everything is simple - a village in the undergrowth, a place in front of the gates for the festivities. And what scenery - this is truly unspoiled nature. And there was a lot of attention paid to the wall itself and that gate, not like the 2005 version. King Kong himself is excellent, both graphically and robotically. Handsome, that's right, not a pumped-up gorilla, but a new look. By the way, graphically the film is done flawlessly, in those days it is generally in my opinion chic. Also, the film has great, powerful music. Oh, the directing is great! It's impossible to tear yourself away for a minute, the events are so heated - and all the time the case leads to the climax! The philosophical themes in the movie are often taken, but superficially, they are not taken as the main idea of the movie, and only one idea - the protection of nature - is pursued throughout the movie, but it beats all records. There are no dinosaur freaks and giant cockroaches and Watts' hysterically fake cries. Everything looks real.

All in all, it's a great movie, I loved watching it as a kid and I love it now too.

I won't compare the movie to Peter Jackson's version, because I didn't like everything about it, even the Oscar-winning computer graphics. I'll say briefly: I could hardly keep from dozing off for those three hours, and I was looking at the screen with admiration for those two.
