Review 4K Movie
The end of the gloomy Middle Ages, the beginning and heyday of the Renaissance - a period that gave the world a bright literary monuments. The Inquisition is still rampant, the fires never cease to blaze, the screams of heretics burning in the flames spread through the cities - the autodafé is still as popular as ever. England is torn apart by ecclesiastical strife. The Church is about to split. Power in the country is in a precarious position. No one wants to see on the throne heretic Elizabeth, but nevertheless she rises to it.
The history of England is very vast and varied. It has had many bloody and gruesome events, strong and legendary personalities, but one stood out always. A woman whose name has gone down through the ages and stayed there forever. Queen Elizabeth I, the virgin queen was a prominent political figure, an intelligent person, but was she happy as a woman? That is a difficult question. History has hidden the answer to it, and we will never know. We can only speculate and conjecture.
Elizabeth, daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, was born in Greenwich on September 7, 1533. She received an excellent upbringing. She was educated by teachers from Cambridge. She was fluent in Greek, Italian, French and Latin. She came to the throne three days after the death of Mary I, better known as Bloody Mary. Elizabeth was 25 years old. She came to the throne at a very troubled and turbulent time. An emerging church schism required her to act decisively. And Parliament demanded that she marry....
These are the events that form the basis of the movie. It is a little inaccurate from a historical point of view, but the movie is undeniably great. We see the formation of Queen Elizabeth, her accession to the throne, the beginning of her reign, the formation of her personality, the formation of a woman. She was bright and interesting. She was respected, feared and honored. Elizabeth was able to achieve this attitude. But one of the most interesting sides of her personality is the personal life of the Queen of England. As many historical and literary sources say at the age of nine the future queen confessed to her childhood friend Robert Dudley that she would never marry. she made this vow and fulfilled it. Although all the same sources say that some platonic connection between her and Robert Dudley could well have been. In general, Lord Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester is a figure who left a significant mark on the Queen's life. He was her favorite and may have been her only love. In the movie we see sincere and real feelings between the young men. And their love is not limited to a platonic relationship. This love is forbidden and romantic, but it is shattered by the cruel reality. And the queen is left to pick up the pieces of her heart. but Elizabeth never lost her face, her confidence and magnificent composure. She may have suffered as a woman, but as a queen she was magnificent in her regal grandeur and always knew what to do.
Shekhar Kapoor's 'Elizabeth' is a very beautiful movie. All the sets are marvelously done. Palace halls, castles, location shoots, wildlife, rich feasts, and what costumes! Each dress is a separate work of art, carefully made with a special luster and style.
The image of the majestic Queen of England was embodied on the screen by no less majestic Cate Blanchett. Gait, look, hand movement, turn of the head - all this squeaks royal article, grace. Kate has become a true Elizabeth. Just amazes with his game and integrity of the image Geoffrey Rush. Inner strength and unwavering faith in his rightness. For the sake of the welfare of the queen, he is ready to walk on the corpses. Young, romantic and charming Joseph Fiennes. A real hero-lover. His Robert Dudley turned out to be incredibly charming and attractive. Just want to applaud the game of Vincent Cassel. His abnormality looks so authentic that it is impossible not to believe. Well, and I just can't help but mention the James Bond of the XXI century. Daniel Craig did a great job. Rugged, unyielding and determined. A dangerous man.
'Elizabeth' is a European movie with its glamor and gloss. It won many awards. But the only Oscar was for the makeup... It reeks of the spirit of England, its grandeur, aristocracy and article.
