Secret genetic experiments conducted by a greedy company lead to a terrible catastrophe - George undergoes a mutation, as a result of which he sharply adds in size, but at the same time becomes uncontrollable and furious. While Davis is trying to figure out how to help a shaggy friend, two more beast-overgrown animals are being declared in the country, the pathogen turns into a wolf and alligator monster, and now three giant animals threaten the security of Chicago. The army against the dexterous and almost invulnerable creatures is powerless, but Davis does not lose hope of returning the mind to the crumbling skyscraper George.

Perhaps this can be considered a certain career success, when the viewer and the critic unmistakably guess what kind of film is waiting for him, only one name in the credits. Such fame is awarded to a few - to Nicholas Cage and Bruce Willis here can be added with great reserve by Jason Statham - but this series will certainly replenish, and for some time, Dwelling Johnson has become as "predictable". This is by no means bad, the predictability of the studios is very high, and the viewers are satisfied that the actor has found a certain screen image, which practically does not recede, but this loop, alas, turns any analysis of new works of the Rock into a laconic "This film with Johnson in the main role ", more, in general, seriously and deeply to talk about.

For the sake of justice, the authors of "Rampage" insured - in case the Rock is fed up with spectators, computer monsters are displayed on the screen, as huge, as ridiculous. Quite remotely, Ultra HD movie is a reference (I do not want to call it "screen version") to the eponymous computer arcade, where the characters turned into huge gorillas, wolves and lizards and went to destroy skyscrapers, but the authors do not excuse it - "Rampage 4K" is enchanting in its stupidity and absolutely anti-scientific. Yes, only spectators during the viewing of such films are not up to biology, they are given grandiose battles and large-scale destruction.

With this in "Rampage 4K" everything is all right. If you expect from the UHD movie action - its more than enough, the third act here, unlike many much more modest productions, is stretched for a good hour, for which so many explodes, falls and rumbles that once you even think about the meaning and logic of what is happening. "Rampage" - these are "Transformers", only with animals instead of robots, many spectacular crashes, shootings and chases, but a minimum of thought. Even local scientists carry nonsense from the screen, what can we say about martyrs, "cowboys" and other people who do not particularly understand the meaning of the words "pathogen".

In addition, the picture does not want to be just an action, but for something more it is not enough. In the episode of the first encounter with a wolf, such a good horror sounds, but this atmosphere of horror quickly dissipates. A couple of times, Scala tries to joke, but it turns out clumsily, cliched, and in the finale, and terribly messed up. The same comedy part, for which Jake Lacey and Malin Ackerman are responsible, is not at all good - they turned their scenes into a circus, not particularly relevant against the backdrop of falling skyscrapers, still reminiscent of the Americans for the tragedy of 9/11.
