Kay Norris, a publishing house employee, moves into a new apartment in a trendy skyscraper nicknamed "the chip". There she becomes the object of rivalry between two men - the owner of the building and one of the tenants, an author of popular detectives.

A series of mysterious murders taking place in the house leads her to believe that a dangerous ring is shrinking around herself. Kay realizes that the unknown killer is one of her admirers....

Sliver is a high-end skyscraper with a mysterious owner and a lot of mysteries.

Not very happy in her personal life and somewhat depressed by the routine work in the publishing house Carly Norris (Sh. Stone) decides to change the situation and moves to a new house and immediately becomes the object of everyone's attention, caught in a whirlpool of strange events.

Barely had time to hint to Carly about the secrets of the slit and the mysterious death of one of its inhabitants neighbor-photographer Gus (C. Curtis) dies under strange circumstances.

Carly is pursued by maniacal detective author Jack Landsford (T.Berenger amazingly manages to play obsessive psychopaths!) and obsessively seeks to help sexy handsome Zeke (W.Baldwin), who, among other things, is the owner of the Slit. Both fans besides a lively interest in the sexy heroine inimitable Sh.Stone still have a number of common passions in the past and a skeleton in the closet in the present.

Zeke is wooing beautifully and has a better chance of continuing his relationship with Carly, but Jack doesn't intend to give up easily either. The women murdered in the house, cameras placed in every corner of the house and the permanent Jack-Zeke confrontation only adds to the suspense of the movie.

Zeke and Carly's bed scenes are beautiful - there is a lot of passion and sensual touching.

It is unexpected and very pleasant to see Sharon Stone in the role of a dramatic and somewhat confused by the life of a young woman, rather than a conniving seductress from 'Basic Instinct'.

The movie has an intrigue - it is interesting to watch and even revisit: pictures from the lives of other residents of Slit (stepfather, secretly harassing underage stepdaughter, festivities, tragedies and love scenes in the apartments of the residents) clearly outline the lines of the three main characters.

Separately we would like to note William Baldwin - not the most talented of the acting dynasty and roaming as a rule on third-rate films. In 'Sliver' he managed to convincingly play an attractive, sexually obsessed young man, not burdened with intelligence and rich imagination, but very fond of digging in other people's dirty laundry. With all this, his character is very charming and able to like.

Who the murderer is - it is not clear almost until the very end....
