I love Mary Herron, for her another brilliant film about one slave. And for this adaptation, I just hate it. Why did she have to film this rotten book? Not at all clear. After all, you can not even go to the grandmother and it is so clear that Ellis hates people. Of course, the book will be read by one person, and the film will already be watched by two. Many people told me about this film, how cool it is, how Bale played his best part. I just nodded back at them, and most of all I was angry when everyone thought whether he was killing girls or not. Still, Haneke was right about his “Funny Games”. And Noe, too, with her Irreversibility. We love to look at all the filth. Well, then I will be wrong when I put one to this brilliant film.
