A new batch of prisoners is brought to a Nazi concentration camp run by the cruel Fraulein Ilse. The women are subjected to cruel medical experiments by Ilsa and her assistants, while the men are also subjected to cruel medical experiments. Ilsa tries each of them in bed. Ilsa's goal is to prove that women can endure more pain and suffering than men, which means they can be allowed to fight at the front.

I don't consider myself a fan of the WIP and Nazisplotation subgenres, as I find the films in these series too monotonous. But I watched Ilsa a long time ago, having heard about its cult status. And at the time, the film didn't make much of an impression on me: a few citizens taken prisoner, scenes of torture, revenge on the offenders, and escape — there's hardly anything here that would impress a seasoned viewer who has seen the bloodiest and far less banal horror films imaginable. But that's if you watch the film through the eyes of a jaded viewer from the 2000s. For visitors to small private cinemas (grindhouses) in the 1970s, the local level of violence and frankness was clearly something new and completely beyond the pale. It is through this prism that the film should be viewed. Yes, today it seems boring and banal. But this is one of those films that broke a number of taboos and spawned a whole wave of imitators. Therefore, no matter how unremarkable the film may seem in terms of plot and level of violence to today's moviegoers, it deserves respect in retrospect. And it's worth watching once. Although I found the cranberry-colored Ilsa, She Wolf of the Siberians much more daring and cheerful.
